NEW MARUTHI SWIFT 2011

News of the new 2011 Maruti Suzuki Swift being launched in June-July 2011 was first brought in by an ICB reader. And now we have confirmed this fact from a Maruti dealer in Mumbai. According to the dealer, the new 2011 Swift will be launched during June-July 2011 and that deliveries would start within one month from the date of launch.

The new 2011 Maruti Suzuki Swift was first showcased at the Paris Motor Show in October 2010. Production of the new Swift is already underway at Maruti’s production facilities and hopefully the waiting period for booked orders won’t exceed the one month period.

For those of you who missed all the action about the new 2011 Swift, here is a quick look at the hot new hatch from Maruti. The new Swift does not show much of a difference from the current model at first glance. But on closer inspection you will notice all the tiny changes Maruti (or rather Suzuki) have made to the new 2011 Swift. The new Swift is now bigger in dimensions with 90mm in length, 5mm in width and 10mm in height increments done. The wheelbase has been stretched by 50mm and the inclination for the roof has got a decline. The headlamp and tail lamps have been peeled back a little bit more on the new Swift.

It is on the inside that one will notice the major changes that have been brought about the new 2011 Maruti Suzuki Swift.The interiors are now classy and carry excellent finish and are of top notch quality. New sporty looking dials, a chunky steering wheel, European design based dashboard and a re-designed instrument panel affirm you of the changes brought to the new 2011 Swift. Other note-worthy features for the new Swift include built in a retractable screen, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, and a USB port.

Under the hood of the new 2011 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be a new 1.2 L K-series petrol engine producing 84 bhp for the petrol variant and the 1.3L DDiS diesel engine that produces 75 bhp for the diesel variant. Also up the line is a new and more powerful engine which which will be added at a later stage to the new Swift line-up. Another expected feature on-board the Swift is 4-speed automatic transmission.

Even though the expected price for the new Swift could not be confirmed, expect the new Swift to be priced at approximately Rs. 50,000 above the current model.
