HYUNDAI EON PRICED UNDER 3 LAKH
Going by its meaningful name, the Hyundai Eon could very well be in for a long haul in the Indian car market which has been very kind to hatchbacks and small cars. The Hyundai Eon could very well be the small car that replaces Hyundai’s iconic Santro. Hyundai claims that the new small car would excel both performance wise and also have good fuel economy.
Powering the Hyundai Eon will be a three cylinder 800 cc petrol engine with about 50bhp of power. The small hatchback’s fascia has styling cues from the new Verna and the car does look a generation or two ahead of the Santro and much more attractive than the Maruti Alto. The styling though has been considerably toned down from the concept images and made more practical and cost effective. Interior space is expected to be similar to the Santro and seems comfortable for four adults.
Although the official launch date for the Hyundai Eon is yet to be disclosed, the company is looking forward to launch the aesthetic product soon, most probably in October because of festival season. Sources have notified initial production of the small car and notified that Hyundai India is very enthusiastic about the car launch. With a killer price tag of under Rs. 3 lakh, the Hyundai Eon might just turn out to be the Maruti Alto rival Hyundai had been waiting for.
