MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA LAUNCHED ALL NEW BOLERO SUV

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the all new Bolero SUV. The new Bolero is priced at INR 6.19 lakh for the base SLE variant while the ZLX BS4 variant will be priced at INR 6.96 lakh, all prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The new Bolero gets an really attractive aesthetic package over the past model of the Bolero. The Mahindra Bolero has been around for the past 8 years and most of us might have thought that the Bolero has had its days. But, this is not what the folks at Mahindra think and have come up with yet another avatar of the best selling SUV of the country.
The changes made to the Bolero are pretty impressive given the fact that the product is actually an entry level SUV. Also, the Bolero has been the selling in huge numbers in a market segment that is void of much competition. Mahindra expects to sell more than one lakh units of the Bolero this year. Last year the company sold close to 84,000 units which was again the best performance in the segment. Now, the new Bolero’s visual package consists of new front bumpers, new headlights with integrated turn-indicators and a new grille upfront which keeps its signature design along with minor changes. As we move along to the side, Mahindra has added new decals which again add to the visual appeal of the product. Towards the rear, a new spare wheel cover has been offered along with rear wipers and washer.

Inside, the new Bolero has a much better interior with new dual-tone seats with folding centre arm rest which is again a premium feature that has been added. The Bolero can seat seven including the rear bench seats. The light shades on the interior give the car an airy feel adding to the experience. The dashboard is also finished in dual-tone with fake-wood inserts and new A/C vents. The steering wheel is all new but the major change to the interior is the addition of an all-digital instrument cluster which is again a segment first. The new Bolero get added features like engine immobilizer, and Mahindra’s micro hybrid on the top-end ZLX variant.

The engine that powers the new Bolero is a frugal and dependable 2.5 litre m2DiCR diesel engine with 63 horsepower and 195 Nm of torque. The car can deliver a very descent mileage of 16 kmpl coupled with the micro hybrid. Mahindra engineers have also worked on lowering the NVH levels to allow for a more comfortable ride for the occupants. Also, the new changes will not be available on other versions of the Bolero which include a double-cab pick-up and the likes. Pricing too has been descent with just a hike of Rs 6000 over the past model. The new Bolero will be available at 200 Mahindra showrooms across the country from today. Mahindra does not offer the Bolero with four-wheel drive but has got plans to introduce a 4×4 variant in the future.
