VOLKSWAGEN ON THE THRILL OF FESTIVAL SEASON
Volkswagen is getting ready for the festival season which is expected to attract huge volumes. Its been a month of new launches, this August. With the festive season kicking off with the arrival of Ganesha, car makers are working on offering the most attractive product to the buyers. Volkswagen will launch limited edition models of the Polo hatchback and the Vento to woo customers to VW showrooms over the next month. The new models get add-on features worth Rs 40,000 on the Trendline variants of both cars.
Buyers of the VW Vento Breeze in trendline diesel & petrol will get a touch screen multimedia player with GPS, USB & Bluetooth. While, Polo Breeze petrol gets ‘Navon’ satellite navigation system, Park distance control, Leatherette seat covers, Branded floor mats, Breeze branding, Branded luxury pillows. Customers will not have to pay more over the sticker price of the Polo or the Vento but since, its a limited period offer, buyers will have to quickly get their names listed before stocks run out.
The VW Vento is priced at Rs. 6.95 lakh while the Polo comes with a price tag of Rs. 4.50 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. In the last couple of months, sales of petrol cars has dropped substantially as more and more people are queueing up for diesel cars. The rise in petrol prices has been one the reason for this shift in demand. The hike interest rates is one of the other factors which is also contributing towards the slow paced growth.
Automakers will have high hopes this festive season and expect more car makers to come up with attractive offers on petrol cars. That said, this move by Volkswagen is certainly laudable as the VW is offering better features on their cars for the same price. The new limited edition models have made both the Polo and Vento real good value given the kit both cars pack-in. The cars will be available at VW showrooms from 10th September onwards.
